Things to do in Mosteiros

Mosteiros is a small west-coast village a short drive past Ginetes, at the far end of the Sete Cidades area, known for a black-sand beach backed by sea stacks rising out of the water.

The sand is volcanic, not the pale coral kind, and the sea here runs roughly 17-24 °C depending on season, often with swell that rules out calm swimming - this is not a Caribbean-style stop. A natural sea pool near the stacks offers more sheltered bathing when conditions allow.

Ponta da Ferraria and its coastal hot spring lie a few minutes further along the same road, covered on its own page. Allow an hour or so to see the village and shore properly.
