About São Miguel Trip

São Miguel Trip is an independent travel resource dedicated to helping you discover Ponta Delgada and the island around it, from the Portas da Cidade and the Forte de São Brás to Sete Cidades and the trails above Lagoa do Fogo, the Furnas caldera and the thermal pool at its heart, the old town below the Igreja Matriz de São Sebastião, the tea plantation at Gorreana, the north coast, Ribeira Grande and Nordeste, and the day trips that make sense from Ponta Delgada.

What we do

We create in-depth, regularly updated travel guides covering Ponta Delgada, the villages around it and the coastline around it, day trips to Sete Cidades and Vila Franca do Campo, hikes through the Furnas caldera, the waterfalls near Ribeira dos Caldeirões and at Salto do Prego, Ribeira Grande and Gorreana, and practical planning advice — including getting here via João Paulo II airport and the road network along the coast — for both first-time and repeat visitors. Every article is researched thoroughly and written to give you genuine, useful advice — not generic filler content.
